The Internet of Things (IoT) is generating a massive amount of data from the machines, products and people that make up today’s smart, connected world. Leveraging this data can dramatically improve an organization’s internal processes, and the services and products a company delivers to its customers.

Splunk, a business systems and analytics partner of ThingWorx, provides a platform that can transform large volumes of disparate data into valuable insights. Splunk solutions enable customers to monitor, collect, filter, search and analyze structured and unstructured machine data in real time from various sources, including the ThingWorx platform.

Join Brian Gilmore, Senior Manager and Solution Expert for the IoT and Industrial Data at Splunk and Jack Reader, Business Development Manager at ThingWorx, a PTC Business, as they discuss how companies can:

  • Identify and resolve issues faster across all systems and infrastructure
  • Monitor and predict problems before they impact service, safety and revenue
  • Gain operational visibility companywide or within specific roles to understand trends in data
  • Make better informed business decisions using Operational Intelligence from machine and process data
  • Anticipate, detect, respond and prevent security threats across IT, the business and in the cloud

Register now to learn how you can leverage the increasing amount of data you are generating from your smart, connected devices to gain a competitive business advantage.

Who should attend: Everyone!

All This Great TLS Security of IoT and We Still Can't Use IPv6

ARM acquired Offspark for their PolarSSL technology. Polar SSL is a Transport Layer Security TLS solution that ARM is putting into its mbed IoT solution. On the surface this is a great addition. It provides an easy interface, will be integrated to Apache and in general makes the encryption path simple to manage. All that encryption is easy to manage all the way to the Edge.

While end to end is a great story, it would indicate that security is a problem we can manage at the edge. All we have to do is fuse the ends with encryption and any troubles are not the networks fault, but the end users responsibility.

We live in a world where gateways are everywhere and with gateways come opportunity. So, while on the surface end to end is a good thing, I question if the best practices are being applied to how we manage the data through the gateways. Often the weak links are found now in the transport but in the processing that happens after the end points are engaged.. Read More
